Three operatives of gangster Goldy Brar have been arrested in a joint operation by the Punjab Police and central agencies, Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Amritpal Singh, also known as Gujjar, from Kaloli in Banur, Kamalpreet Singh from Devinagar Abrawa in Banur, and Prem Singh from Amrala in Dera Bassi.

All of them are facing multiple criminal cases in Punjab, including charges of attempted murder, extortion, robbery, and violations of the Arms Act.

They are also believed to be involved in a shooting incident at a businessman’s house in Sector 5 of Chandigarh on January 19.

DGP Yadav stated that based on information from the Anti-Gangster Task Force, the police teams, along with the Chandigarh Police, tracked the operatives while they were traveling from Bihar to Uttar Pradesh. They were apprehended at Gorakhpur Railway Station with the help of local police.

During preliminary investigations, it was revealed that Amritpal Singh and Kamalpreet Singh fired shots in the residential area of Sector 5, Chandigarh. The third accused, Prem Singh, aided their escape from the crime scene by providing his car and sheltering them at his house.

Later, on the instructions of Goldy Brar, the trio fled to Bihar on January 27 and sought refuge at Gurdwara Patna Sahib for two days before moving to a hideout in village Chhitauli, Bihar, provided by Goldy Brar. On February 4, they left the hideout to relocate to a new place.
