New Delhi, 25th Jan. The Ministry of Defence has extended an invitation to the beneficiaries of the PM Vishwakarma Scheme to attend the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi on 26th January, 2024. These beneficiaries will be recognized as “Special Guests” for the event, which will take place at Kartavya Path.
The PM Vishwakarma Scheme, launched on 17th September 2023 by the Prime Minister of India, is a comprehensive initiative that offers comprehensive support to artisans and craftspeople from 18 different trades. To date, a total of 285,420 applications have been successfully registered under this scheme.
A total of 256 beneficiaries, along with their spouses, will be attending the Republic Day Event. These beneficiaries come from both rural and urban areas across 20 states, including the North Eastern States, as well as 4 Union Territories. Some of them are from Aspirational districts.
Among the attendees, there are 108 female artisans and 148 male artisans, representing the various trades covered by the scheme.
