PM Modi’s Multistate Visit: Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra on Feb 27-28

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set for a packed schedule on February 27th and 28th, 2024, with visits planned across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Maharashtra, to inaugurate significant development projects and engage with various communities.

Kerala Visit:
Commencing his journey, Prime Minister Modi will kickstart the day with a visit to the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, at approximately 10:45 AM. This visit underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing technical and R&D capabilities in the space sector. Noteworthy projects to be inaugurated during his visit include the PSLV Integration Facility (PIF) at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota; the new Semi-cryogenics Integrated Engine and stage Test facility at ISRO Propulsion Complex, Mahendragiri; and the Trisonic Wind Tunnel at VSSC, Thiruvananthapuram, amounting to a total investment of approximately Rs. 1800 crore.

Tamil Nadu Engagements:
Later in the day, around 5:15 PM, the Prime Minister will participate in the program ‘Creating the Future – Digital Mobility for Automotive MSME Entrepreneurs’ in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Here, he will address numerous Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) entrepreneurs in the automotive sector and launch two initiatives aimed at bolstering the growth of MSMEs in the Indian automotive industry.

Moving forward to February 28th, Prime Minister Modi’s agenda in Tamil Nadu includes the inauguration and laying of foundation stones for various development projects worth approximately Rs. 17,300 crore in Thoothukudi. These projects encompass the transformation of the V.O.Chidambaranar Port into a transshipment hub, the launch of India’s first indigenous green hydrogen fuel cell inland waterway vessel under the Harit Nauka initiative, and the dedication of tourist facilities in 75 lighthouses across ten States/UTs.

Additionally, rail and road projects aimed at enhancing connectivity and socio-economic growth in the region will be inaugurated, further cementing the government’s commitment to infrastructural development.

Maharashtra Visit:
Concluding his tour, Prime Minister Modi will head to Yavatmal, Maharashtra, on February 28th, where he will participate in a public program and inaugurate multiple development projects valued at over Rs. 4900 crore. Notable among these initiatives is the release of the 16th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), benefiting more than 11 crore farmer families, and the distribution of the 2nd and 3rd installments of ‘Namo Shetkari MahaSanman Nidhi’ to about 88 lakh beneficiary farmers across Maharashtra.

Further, the Prime Minister will disburse the Revolving Fund to 5.5 lakh women Self Help Groups (SHGs), launch India’s first indigenous green hydrogen fuel cell inland waterway vessel, and initiate the Modi Awaas Gharkul Yojana for OBC category beneficiaries, among other initiatives aimed at boosting welfare and infrastructure in the region.

The visit to Maharashtra will also witness the dedication of multiple irrigation projects and rail projects, reinforcing the government’s commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity and connectivity in the region.
