Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah graced the inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony of 53 diverse projects valued at approximately Rs 2448 crore in Silvassa, Daman & Diu on Monday. The event, which also featured a Labharthi Sammelan, saw the presence of eminent personalities including the Administrator of Daman and Diu, Praful Patel, and the Union Home Secretary.

Commencing his address by paying homage to Veer Savarkar on his death anniversary, Shah highlighted Savarkar’s unwavering dedication to India’s liberation and his guiding principles for the nation. He emphasized the rarity of stalwarts like Savarkar, asserting that they emerge perhaps once in a millennium.

Shah delineated the scope of development initiatives, announcing the inauguration and foundation stone laying for 10 projects in Daman worth Rs 191 crore, 10 projects in Diu valued at Rs 340 crore, and 33 projects in Dadra and Nagar Haveli amounting to Rs 1916 crore. He attributed this surge in developmental endeavors to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s relentless pursuit of progress over the past decade.

Looking forward to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Shah projected a significant voter turnout of about 100 crore individuals and underscored the electorate’s role in ushering in a new government. He reiterated the assurance of Modi’s governance equating to a steadfast commitment to project completion.

Enumerating the government’s accomplishments, Shah spotlighted landmark achievements such as the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir, and the eradication of Naxalism, terrorism, and extremism. He lauded Modi’s inclusive policies, including One Rank, One Pension for armed forces personnel and enhanced representation for women in legislative bodies.

Shah juxtaposed the leadership of Modi, characterized by patriotism and transformative policies, with a coalition of dynastic parties allegedly marred by corruption scandals. He urged voters to opt for the former, citing Modi’s track record of elevating India to the status of the fifth-largest economy globally.

In a forward-looking vision, Shah outlined ambitious goals under Modi’s leadership, envisioning India as a $5 trillion economy and the third-largest economy worldwide by 2027. He articulated plans for robust exports, space exploration, and sporting events, culminating in India’s ascent as a global leader by 2047.

Emphasizing the legislative reforms under Modi’s tenure, Shah commended the developmental strides achieved in Daman & Diu under the stewardship of Shri Praful Patel, underscoring a paradigm shift in governance within a short span.

The event concluded with Shah expressing confidence in India’s trajectory towards prosperity and global eminence under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
