Leaders agree to deepen ties, focus on Global South cooperation

New Delhi, 30th Jan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday received a telephone call from the Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Eloína Rodríguez Gómez, during which the two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations.

According to an official statement, both leaders agreed to further expand and deepen the India–Venezuela partnership across a wide range of areas, including trade and investment, energy, digital technology, health, agriculture and people-to-people exchanges.

The leaders also exchanged views on key regional and global issues of mutual interest and underscored the importance of their close cooperation for advancing the interests of the Global South.

Both sides agreed to remain in close touch and continue engagement to further strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation in the coming period.
