New Delhi, 29th Oct: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Gujarat on October 30–31, where he will participate in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Ekta Nagar, home to the iconic Statue of Unity.

On October 30, the Prime Minister will flag off electric buses in Ekta Nagar at around 5:15 PM and later, at 6:30 PM, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for infrastructure and development projects worth over ₹1,140 crore. These projects aim to enhance the tourist experience, improve connectivity, and promote sustainability in the region surrounding the Statue of Unity.

Among the projects are the Birsa Munda Tribal University in Rajpipla, Hospitality District (Phase-1) at Garudeshwar, E-Bus Charging Depot, 25 Electric Buses, Narmada Ghat Extension, and Kaushalya Path. The foundation stones will also be laid for the Museum of Royal Kingdoms of India, Veer Balak Udyan, Sports Complex, and Rain Forest Project, among others.

During the programme, Prime Minister Modi will also release a special ₹150 commemorative coin and postage stamp in honour of Sardar Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.

On October 31, the Prime Minister will offer floral tribute at the Statue of Unity and participate in the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas parade. The parade will feature contingents from BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, and various state police forces. A key highlight this year will be a BSF marching contingent comprising exclusively Indian breed dogs, including Rampur and Mudhol Hounds.

Other attractions include the Gujarat Police’s Horse Contingent, Assam Police’s Motorcycle Daredevil Show, and the BSF’s Camel Mounted Band. The event will also honour Shaurya Chakra awardees and gallantry medal winners from the BSF and CRPF for their bravery in counter-terror and anti-Naxal operations.

The parade will showcase ten tableaux from various states and organisations, highlighting the theme “Unity in Diversity”, alongside a cultural performance by 900 artists representing India’s diverse classical traditions.

The visit will conclude with Prime Minister Modi’s interaction with Officer Trainees of the 100th Foundation Course during Aarambh 7.0, held on the theme “Reimagining Governance.”
