PM Modi to Visit Dehradun on Nov 9 for Uttarakhand’s Silver Jubilee

To launch and lay foundation stones for projects worth ₹8,140 crore across key sectors; ₹62 crore aid for 28,000 farmers under PM Fasal Bima Yojana

Dehradun, 8th Nov: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Dehradun on November 9 to participate in the Silver Jubilee Celebration marking 25 years since the formation of Uttarakhand. The programme, scheduled at around 12:30 PM, will take place at a public event where the Prime Minister will also launch a commemorative postal stamp to mark the occasion and address the gathering.

During the event, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a series of development initiatives worth over ₹8,140 crore. This includes projects worth ₹930 crore being inaugurated and foundation stones laid for projects worth ₹7,210 crore. The initiatives cover major sectors such as drinking water, irrigation, technical education, energy, urban development, sports, and skill development.

The Prime Minister will also release ₹62 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 28,000 farmers under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, strengthening the financial resilience of the state’s agricultural community.

Key inaugurated projects include Dehradun water supply coverage for 23 zones under the AMRUT scheme, an electrical substation in Pithoragarh, solar power installations in government buildings, and an AstroTurf Hockey Ground at Haldwani Stadium in Nainital.

PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for two major hydro-sector projects — the Song Dam Drinking Water Project, which will supply 150 MLD (million litres per day) of drinking water to Dehradun, and the Jamarani Dam Multipurpose Project in Nainital, which aims to provide water, irrigation, and power generation benefits. Other key projects include new electrical substations, a Women’s Sports College in Champawat, and a modern dairy plant in Nainital.
