New Delhi, 24th Dec. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will mark the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee with a visit to Madhya Pradesh on December 25. At a special event in Khajuraho, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several landmark projects.
Among the highlights is the foundation stone for the Ken-Betwa River Linking National Project, India’s first interlinking of rivers under the National Perspective Plan.
The project is expected to revolutionize irrigation in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, benefiting thousands of farmers. It also promises drinking water facilities, over 100 MW in green energy, and significant employment generation to boost the rural economy.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will release a commemorative stamp and coin in honor of Vajpayee’s legacy. He will also lay the foundation stone for 1,153 Atal Gram Sushasan buildings, which aim to enhance the efficiency of Gram Panchayats, fostering good governance at the grassroots level.
In a nod to India’s green energy goals, PM Modi will inaugurate the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project in Khandwa district. The innovative project not only reduces carbon emissions but also aids in water conservation by minimizing evaporation. It aligns with the government’s target of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070.
