PM Modi to Address ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Madhya Pradesh’ Programme on Feb 29

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Madhya Pradesh’ programme on February 29, 2024, at 4 PM via video conferencing.

During the event, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects collectively valued at over Rs 17,500 crore across Madhya Pradesh. These projects encompass vital sectors such as irrigation, power, road, rail, water supply, coal, and industry, among others. Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Cyber Tehsil project in Madhya Pradesh.

Among the key initiatives, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for irrigation projects exceeding Rs 5500 crore, including the Upper Narmada Project, Raghavpur Multipurpose Project, and Basaniya Multipurpose Project. These endeavors aim to irrigate more than 75,000 hectares of agricultural land in Dindori, Anuppur, and Mandla districts while enhancing power supply and drinking water availability in the region. Furthermore, the Prime Minister will dedicate two micro-irrigation projects valued at over Rs 800 crore, serving over 26,000 hectares of land in Betul and Khandwa districts.

In the transportation sector, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate three railway projects costing more than Rs 2200 crores, enhancing rail connectivity and fostering socio-economic development in the region. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for multiple industrial projects worth about Rs 1000 crore, including Mega Leather, Footwear, and Accessories Cluster at Sitapur in Morena district, among others.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate coal sector projects exceeding Rs 1000 crore, including the Jayant OCP CHP Silo and Dudhichua OCP CHP-Silo. Strengthening the power sector, he will lay the foundation stones for six substations across various districts, benefiting eleven districts and industries in the Mandideep industrial area.

Under AMRUT 2.0 and other schemes, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for water supply augmentation projects valued at about Rs 880 crore across several districts. Additionally, he will inaugurate a project aimed at augmenting water supply in Khargone.

A significant step towards enhancing governance, the Cyber Tehsil project in Madhya Pradesh will facilitate paperless, faceless, end-to-end online processing of mutation of sale-purchase and record correction in revenue records. This initiative will ensure efficient delivery of government services and promote transparency.
