Banaskantha, 1st April: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Congress, accusing the party of indulging in “political vulture-ism” and attempting to create panic in the country amid the ongoing West Asia crisis.
Addressing a public gathering in Vav-Tharad, Modi said the global situation, particularly tensions linked to the Iran conflict, has disrupted fuel supplies and created challenges worldwide. However, he asserted that India has managed to maintain stability.
“In difficult times, the country must stand united. The situation in West Asia has affected the entire world, but India has kept things under control,” he said.
Targeting the Congress, the Prime Minister alleged that the Opposition was prioritising politics over national interest.
“Some parties are busy playing ‘bread-and-butter’ politics. Leading them is the Congress, which is trying to divide the nation,” he said.
He further accused the party of spreading fear and rumours at a time when public confidence is crucial.
“Like political vultures, the Congress is trying to take advantage of the situation. They are creating an atmosphere of fear so that chaos spreads,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister also suggested that the Opposition’s reaction stems from being out of power, claiming that Congress leaders are frustrated despite India receiving global recognition on various platforms.
The remarks come amid heightened political exchanges as the Centre continues to project stability in the face of global geopolitical tensions.
