New Delhi, 6th Jan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday highlighted the importance of gentle and respectful speech in public life by sharing a Sanskrit Subhashitam on social media.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister shared the verse: “प्रियवाक्यप्रदानेन सर्वे तुष्यन्ति जन्तवः।
तस्मात् तदेव वक्तव्यं वचने का दरिद्रता।”
The Subhashitam underlines that kind and pleasant words bring happiness to all beings and that speaking gently costs nothing but carries great value. The Prime Minister’s message was widely viewed as a reminder of the need for civility, restraint and respect in public discourse, particularly in an era of heightened political and social debates.
