New Delhi, 19th March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a telephonic conversation with Anwar Ibrahim, exchanging festive greetings and discussing the evolving situation in West Asia.

Modi conveyed warm wishes to the people of Malaysia on the occasion of the upcoming festival of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, underlining the spirit of goodwill and cultural ties between the two nations.

During the conversation, both leaders expressed concern over the situation in West Asia and reaffirmed their shared commitment to de-escalation. They emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to ensure early restoration of peace and stability in the region.

“Spoke with my friend, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia… We discussed the deeply concerning situation in West Asia and reaffirmed our commitment to peace through dialogue and diplomacy,” Modi said in a post on X.
