Johannesburg, 23rd Nov: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday addressed the third session of the G20 Summit, focusing on the theme “A Fair and a Just Future for All – Critical Minerals; Decent Work; Artificial Intelligence.” He called for a transformative approach toward the promotion of critical technologies, advocating models that remain human-centric, global in reach, and built on open-source frameworks rather than exclusive financial interests.
PM Modi highlighted India’s technology ecosystem as an example of how inclusive innovation can deliver large-scale benefits. Citing achievements in digital payments, artificial intelligence and space technologies, he said India has shown that global good can be achieved through accessible and collaborative platforms.
Outlining India’s AI strategy, the Prime Minister stressed equitable access, mass-level skill development and responsible use. Under the India-AI Mission, he said, high-performance computing resources are being expanded so that AI’s benefits reach every citizen. PM Modi also called for a global compact grounded in transparency, human oversight, safety-by-design and safeguards against misuse. “AI must amplify human capability—but humans must take the final decisions,” he stated.
PM Modi announced that India will host the AI Impact Summit in February 2026, themed “Sarvajanam Hitaya, Sarvajanam Sukhaya” (Welfare for all, Happiness for all), inviting all G20 partners to participate.
Shifting focus to employment, he said economies must prepare for the “Capabilities of Tomorrow” rather than merely safeguarding present-day jobs. Building on progress at the New Delhi G20 Summit, he proposed a Global Framework for Talent Mobility to enable smoother cross-border movement of skilled professionals.
Reaffirming India’s global vision, the Prime Minister concluded that the country stands for sustainable development, trusted trade, fair finance and progress in which every nation prospers together.
