Male, 25th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India and President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu of Maldives jointly inaugurated the state-of-the-art Ministry of Defence (MoD) building in Male today, July 25, 2025. This event highlights the robust and enduring defence and security cooperation between the two nations.
The eleven-storey building, which overlooks the Indian Ocean, stands as a tangible symbol of the strong partnership. Constructed with financial assistance from India, the new Ministry of Defence headquarters is expected to considerably enhance the capabilities of Maldives’ defence and law enforcement authorities.
