New Delhi, 19th Jan: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday personally received His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), upon his arrival in New Delhi, signalling the close strategic partnership between the two nations.

The Prime Minister went to the airport to welcome the visiting dignitary, a gesture seen as reflecting the warmth and importance India attaches to its relationship with the UAE.

In a post on X, Modi wrote: “Went to the airport to welcome my brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. His visit illustrates the importance he attaches to a strong India-UAE friendship. Looking forward to our discussions.”

The two leaders are expected to hold high-level talks covering a range of issues including trade, energy cooperation, investment, technology, defence, and regional security.

India and the UAE share a comprehensive strategic partnership, with robust economic ties, growing defence collaboration, and deep people-to-people connections, given the large Indian diaspora in the Gulf nation.

Sheikh Mohamed’s visit is seen as another step in strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding collaboration across multiple sectors.
