New Delhi, 15th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid heartfelt tribute to Thiru K. Kamaraj on his birth anniversary, remembering the veteran leader’s enduring contributions to India’s freedom movement and nation-building in the post-Independence era.
Taking to social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister hailed Kamaraj’s legacy, stating, “Paying homage to Thiru K. Kamaraj Ji on his birth anniversary. He was at the forefront of India’s freedom struggle and provided invaluable leadership in the formative years of our journey after Independence. His noble ideals and emphasis on social justice inspire us all greatly.”
Thiru Kamaraj, often referred to as the “Kingmaker” in Indian politics, played a pivotal role in strengthening the Congress party post-Independence and served as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 1954 to 1963. His commitment to education, social upliftment, and administrative integrity remains deeply respected across the political spectrum.
