New Delhi, 23rd March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tribute to eminent socialist leader Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary, recalling his enduring contributions to India’s political and social landscape.
Describing Dr. Lohia as a multifaceted personality, the Prime Minister highlighted his key role in mobilising people during the freedom struggle and his efforts towards nation-building after Independence.
Modi noted that Lohia was one of the foremost voices of social justice in India and remained deeply committed to empowering the poor and marginalised sections of society.
“He was an outstanding thinker… His unwavering commitment to the cause of empowering the poor and the marginalised continues to inspire generations,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X.
He also underscored the continued relevance of Lohia’s ideas on gender equality and participatory governance in contemporary India.
Dr. Lohia, a prominent freedom fighter and socialist thinker, is remembered for his advocacy of equality, decentralisation and inclusive development.
