Accra, 3rd July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday visited the Nkrumah Memorial Park in Accra and paid floral tribute to Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s founding President and a towering figure in Africa’s independence movement. He was accompanied by Ghana’s Vice President, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.
Marking a solemn moment of respect, the Prime Minister laid a wreath and observed a minute’s silence in honour of Dr. Nkrumah’s enduring legacy of freedom, unity, and social justice.
The visit reflects India’s enduring respect for Ghana’s historical legacy and strengthens the spirit of friendship and cooperation between the two democracies. The Nkrumah Memorial Park, a key landmark in Accra, serves as a tribute to the visionary leader who played a pivotal role in Ghana’s liberation from colonial rule.
