New Delhi, 9th June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid rich tributes to Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the iconic tribal freedom fighter, on his martyrdom day.
In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister said, “Respectful tribute to the great hero of the freedom struggle, Bhagwan Birsa Munda, on his martyrdom day. He dedicated his life to the welfare of tribal brothers and sisters and the protection of their rights. His sacrifice and devotion will continue to inspire the people of the country.”
Bhagwan Birsa Munda is remembered as a powerful voice against British colonial rule and a tireless crusader for tribal rights and social justice. His leadership in the late 19th century sparked a tribal movement for dignity, land rights, and self-rule.
