Buenos Aires, 6th July: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid homage to Argentine independence hero General José de San Martín during his visit to Buenos Aires, honouring the national icon’s legacy of patriotism and leadership.

In a post on social media platform X, the Prime Minister wrote:
“Paid homage to General José de San Martín in Buenos Aires. His courage and leadership played a pivotal role in Argentina’s history. His life remains a symbol of patriotism and determination for the people of Argentina.”

General San Martín is revered as one of South America’s foremost liberators, having led the struggle for independence in Argentina, Chile, and Peru from Spanish colonial rule. His contributions are a cornerstone of Argentina’s national identity.
