New Delhi, 13th Dec: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid heartfelt tributes to the security personnel who laid down their lives while defending the Parliament of India during the terrorist attack on December 13, 2001.

Recalling the supreme sacrifice of the martyrs, the Prime Minister said the nation remembers them with deep respect and gratitude. He underlined that their courage, alertness and unwavering sense of duty in the face of grave danger remain a lasting inspiration for every citizen.

In a post on social media platform X, Shri Modi stated, “On this day, our nation remembers those who laid down their lives during the heinous attack on our Parliament in 2001. In the face of grave danger, their courage, alertness and unwavering sense of duty were remarkable. India will forever remain grateful for their supreme sacrifice.”

The terrorist attack on Parliament was thwarted due to the bravery and quick response of the security forces, preventing a major assault on the country’s democratic system. December 13 is observed each year to honour the martyrs who protected the sanctity of India’s Parliament.
