New Delhi, 20th Feb: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level roundtable with CEOs and founders of 16 AI and deeptech startups at Seva Teerth, engaging with innovators driving cutting-edge solutions across key sectors.
The participating startups showcased their work in healthcare, agriculture, cybersecurity, space technology and social empowerment. From AI-powered diagnostics and gene therapy to geospatial intelligence for crop monitoring and climate risk management, the innovators presented solutions aimed at addressing population-scale challenges.
Several ventures are also working on ethical AI, vernacular access to justice and education, enterprise productivity enhancement and modernising legacy systems. The Prime Minister congratulated the entrepreneurs for taking bold risks and building impactful, scalable solutions.
During the interaction, he stressed the need to harness AI for agriculture and environmental protection, including monitoring crop productivity and fertilizer usage to safeguard soil health. He also called for expanding AI tools to promote higher education in Indian languages and strengthen cultural preservation.
Highlighting the importance of responsible innovation, the Prime Minister underscored the need for strong data governance and cautioned against misinformation. He urged startups to develop solutions tailored specifically to India’s needs rather than replicating global models.
Referring to UPI as a benchmark for simple and scalable digital innovation, he expressed confidence in Indian companies and encouraged greater trust in domestic technologies. He also discussed expanding private participation in the space sector and noted growing investor interest in Indian startups.
The startup founders praised India’s sustained push to strengthen its artificial intelligence ecosystem and described the India AI Impact Summit as a milestone reflecting the country’s rising stature in shaping global AI conversations.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary P.K. Mishra, Principal Secretary-2 Shaktikanta Das and Minister of State Jitin Prasada. CEOs and founders from companies including Abridge, Adalat AI, BrainSightAI, Credo AI, Eka Care, Glean, Innogle, Invideo, Miko, Origin, Prophaze, Rasen, Rubrik, SatSure, Supernova and Sypha AI were present.
