New Delhi, 10th Feb: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday received a telephone call from Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister of Mauritius, during which the two leaders reviewed the progress in bilateral cooperation.

The discussion focused on developments since their last meeting in Varanasi in September 2025, with emphasis on development partnership, capacity building, and people-to-people exchanges.

Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to further advancing the India–Mauritius Enhanced Strategic Partnership for the benefit of the two nations.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated India’s continued support for Mauritius’ development priorities, in line with the Vision MAHASAGAR initiative, the Neighbourhood First policy, and the shared commitment to the Global South.

The two leaders also agreed to work closely to ensure peace and stability in the Indian Ocean region.

Prime Minister Modi conveyed that he looks forward to welcoming Prime Minister Ramgoolam to New Delhi for the AI Impact Summit scheduled for next week.
