New Delhi, 5th Dec: With the West Bengal Assembly elections drawing nearer, the Bharatiya Janata Party has intensified its preparations across the state. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit Bengal on December 20, where he will address a major public meeting in Nadia district as part of the party’s early campaign push.
Sources said the Prime Minister is also expected to hold a strategy meeting with the BJP’s Bengal leadership. The discussions will focus on organisational preparedness, key electoral issues and the overall direction of the campaign in the months ahead.
As part of its expanded outreach plan, the BJP will launch 4 to 6 Parivartan Yatras across West Bengal in January. These yatras aim to strengthen grassroots engagement, highlight governance and law-and-order issues under the Trinamool Congress government, and consolidate the organisation’s presence across districts. PM Modi is also likely to address one of the major yatras, which is expected to intensify the political climate in the state.
In parallel, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is preparing for an extended stay in West Bengal starting January. Shah will monitor booth-level conditions, assess organisational gaps and sharpen the party’s election strategy through sustained review meetings.
For the upcoming assembly polls, the BJP plans to foreground issues such as law-and-order deterioration, corruption, women’s safety, cross-border infiltration and other governance-related concerns. Party leaders believe that growing public dissatisfaction and a shifting political mood could strengthen their campaign momentum.
The combined impact of the Prime Minister’s visit, the Parivartan Yatras and Amit Shah’s ground-level supervision is expected to form the backbone of the BJP’s high-intensity election strategy in Bengal.
