PM Modi Interacts with Children Who Overcame Heart Ailments

Encourages Healthy Living, Yoga, and Tree Plantation under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’

Raipur, 1st Nov: As part of the ‘Dil Ki Baat’ programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with 2,500 children who have successfully recovered from congenital heart diseases during the ‘Gift of Life’ ceremony at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

The Prime Minister lauded the children for their exceptional fortitude, sharing heartfelt conversations with many of them who recounted their journeys of recovery and dreams for the future.

One young hockey player shared how she discovered her heart condition during a school check-up, underwent surgery, and now continues to pursue her sport with renewed vigour. When asked about her goals, she confidently told the Prime Minister that she wished to become a doctor and treat all children.

Another child recited a motivational poem, while others expressed their aspirations of becoming teachers and doctors to serve society. A boy from West Bengal, Abhik, told the Prime Minister that he dreams of joining the Army to protect the nation, earning appreciation from him for his patriotic spirit.

The Prime Minister also reminded the children of the ongoing centenary year of Shri Sathya Sai Baba and recounted Baba’s contributions to alleviating water scarcity in Puttaparthi by providing drinking water to hundreds of villages. Emphasising environmental consciousness, Shri Modi urged children to join the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign by planting trees as a mark of gratitude to both Mother Earth and their mothers.

Highlighting the importance of good health, the Prime Minister advised the children to practice yoga, follow regular sleep schedules, and maintain healthy habits. “A healthy body is essential for achieving anything in life,” he remarked, extending his best wishes to the young hearts of India.
