New Delhi, 9th Dec: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday lauded the cultural richness embedded in Doordarshan’s morning programme Suprabhatam, emphasising the timeless relevance of Sanskrit in India’s spiritual and cultural traditions.
Highlighting the programme’s distinctive feature, the Prime Minister noted that Suprabhatam includes a Sanskrit subhāṣita (wise saying) every morning, offering viewers a thoughtful blend of values and culture at the start of the day.
In a post on X, PM Modi wrote, “दूरदर्शनस्य सुप्रभातम् कार्यक्रमे प्रतिदिनं संस्कृतस्य एकं सुभाषितम् अपि भवति। एतस्मिन् संस्कारतः संस्कृतिपर्यन्तम् अन्यान्य-विषयाणां समावेशः क्रियते। एतद् अस्ति अद्यतनं सुभाषितम्….”
The Prime Minister’s message underlines the important role that Sanskrit continues to play in shaping India’s cultural continuity and daily life, even in modern broadcast formats.
By spotlighting the Sanskrit segment of Suprabhatam, he reinforced the significance of preserving and promoting India’s linguistic and philosophical heritage through contemporary media.
