Puttaparthi, 19th Nov: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed the birth centenary celebrations of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba in Puttaparthi, stating that service to humanity remains the foundation of Indian civilisation.

Offering tributes at Baba’s Mahasamadhi, he said Baba’s teachings and spirit of compassion continue to guide millions in over 140 countries. Modi noted that the government has released a ₹100 commemorative coin and a postal stamp honouring his legacy.

He described Seva as the essence of Bhakti, Gyan and Karma, recalling Baba’s message — “Love All, Serve All” — and praised the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust for its work in water supply, healthcare, education and rural development.

Highlighting welfare efforts, he pointed to the success of the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and the rise in India’s social security coverage to nearly 100 crore citizens. He also referred to cow donation initiatives and breed development programmes that support rural livelihoods.

Calling this the nation’s “Kartavya Kaal”, he urged citizens to strengthen the “Vocal for Local” movement to boost small enterprises and ensure inclusive growth.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and several Union Ministers were present during the event.
