New Delhi/Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday lauded the inauguration of the new terminal building at Patna Airport, calling it a “great step” towards Bihar’s development. Sharing visuals of the upgraded facility on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister described the terminal as a symbol of modern infrastructure taking shape in the state.
“Patna airport gets a modern terminal building! This is great news for Bihar’s progress. Here are some glimpses from the new terminal,” posted the Prime Minister, alongside photographs showcasing the contemporary architecture and passenger amenities.
The new terminal is expected to significantly enhance the passenger handling capacity of the Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna, easing congestion and improving travel experience. The facility reflects the Centre’s push for infrastructure development across India’s eastern states, including improved air connectivity.
With rising air traffic in Bihar, the upgraded terminal is poised to support both economic activity and tourism, while also strengthening logistical networks in the region.
The project aligns with the government’s broader vision under the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Naagrik) scheme to enhance regional connectivity and make air travel accessible to all.
