PM Modi Hails Maha Kumbh as ‘Maha Yagya of Unity’, Calls It a Historic Event

Prayagraj/New Delhi- The Maha Kumbh has concluded, marking the end of what Prime Minister Narendra Modi described as the ‘Maha Yagya of Unity’. Over the 45-day grand congregation, the faith of 140 crore citizens came together in Prayagraj, making it a historic and overwhelming spiritual gathering.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister emphasized that India, proud of its heritage, is moving forward with new energy, calling this period the dawn of an era of transformation that will shape the nation’s future.

Maha Kumbh: A Strong Cultural Foundation

Reflecting on the massive participation in the event, PM Modi noted that the huge number of devotees was not just a record but had also laid a strong foundation for preserving Indian culture and heritage for centuries. He expressed his gratitude to the citizens for their efforts, determination, and devotion in making the Maha Kumbh a success.

The Maha Kumbh has become a subject of research for management professionals, planners, and policy experts worldwide,” he said.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the unifying aspect of the festival, stating that people from all sections and regions of society had come together, embodying the vision of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’.

A Pilgrimage to Somnath for National Unity

In his post, PM Modi announced that he would visit Somnath Jyotirlinga, the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas, to offer prayers for national unity.

“I will dedicate a flower of devotion in the form of my prayers and hope that this unbroken stream of unity continues to flow across India,” he wrote.

The Maha Kumbh, held every 12 years in Prayagraj, is one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, drawing millions of devotees, saints, and scholars. With its successful conclusion, the event has reaffirmed India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage on a global stage.
