PM Modi Greets Jharkhand on Foundation Day, Pays Tribute to Birsa Munda
The Prime Minister honours tribal legacy, recalls Birsa Munda’s courage on his 150th Jayanti

New Delhi, 15th Nov: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday extended warm wishes to the people of Jharkhand on the occasion of the State’s Foundation Day. He described Jharkhand as a “glorious land enriched with vibrant tribal culture” and recalled the region’s proud legacy marked by courage, resilience and dignity.
The Prime Minister said the history of Jharkhand has been shaped by inspiring tales of struggle and strength, rooted deeply in its tribal ethos. He also wished continued development and prosperity for families across the state.
Marking the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, the Prime Minister paid heartfelt tributes to the revered freedom fighter. He noted that on Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, the nation remembers Birsa Munda’s unmatched contribution to safeguarding the honour of the motherland.
The Prime Minister said Birsa Munda’s valiant resistance against foreign rule and his commitment to justice will continue to inspire generations.
Posting his message on X, PM Modi wrote that Jharkhand’s land, enriched by tribal pride, stands as a shining symbol of courage and self-respect, and extended his wishes for the state’s continued progress.
