New Delhi, 13th Feb: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated Tarique Rahman on his party’s victory in the Bangladesh elections and reaffirmed India’s commitment to strong bilateral ties.
According to an official statement, the Prime Minister spoke with Rahman and conveyed his best wishes and support as he takes on the responsibility of meeting the aspirations of the people of Bangladesh.
Modi highlighted the close and friendly relations between the two countries, noting that India and Bangladesh are neighbours bound by deep-rooted historical and cultural ties.
He reaffirmed India’s continued commitment to the peace, progress, and prosperity of both nations and their peoples.
In a post on social media, the Prime Minister said he was “delighted” to speak with Rahman and extended his congratulations on the electoral victory, while expressing support for his future efforts.
