New Delhi, 27th March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated Balendra Shah on assuming office as the Prime Minister of Nepal, underlining India’s intent to further strengthen ties with its key neighbour.
In a message posted on X, Modi said Shah’s elevation reflects the confidence and trust placed in him by the people of Nepal.
“Warm congratulations to Mr. Balendra Shah on being sworn in as the Prime Minister of Nepal. Your appointment reflects the trust reposed in your leadership by the people of Nepal,” he said.
Reaffirming India’s commitment to bilateral engagement, the Prime Minister expressed optimism about future cooperation.
“I look forward to working closely with you to take India-Nepal friendship and cooperation to even greater heights for the mutual benefit of our two peoples,” Modi added.
India and Nepal share deep-rooted cultural, economic and strategic ties, and the latest leadership transition in Kathmandu is expected to open new avenues for enhanced engagement across sectors.
