PM Modi Condoles Yamuna Expressway Mishap Victims, Announces Ex-Gratia

₹2 lakh for kin of deceased, ₹50,000 for injured from PMNRF

New Delhi, 16th Dec: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in the tragic mishap on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district and extended his condolences to the bereaved families.

The Prime Minister also wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the accident. Announcing relief measures, he said an ex-gratia amount of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) would be given to the next of kin of each deceased, while those injured would receive ₹50,000.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister’s Office said:
“The loss of lives due to a mishap on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, is extremely painful. My thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured. An ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given ₹50,000: PM @narendramodi.”

The accident, which occurred amid dense fog conditions, claimed multiple lives and left several others injured, prompting large-scale rescue and relief operations by local authorities.
