New Delhi, 16th Nov. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire accident at Jhansi Medical College in Uttar Pradesh, which claimed the lives of several newborns. He assured that the state government and local administration are providing all necessary support to the affected families and victims.
In a heartfelt post on X, the Prime Minister wrote, “Heartbreaking! The fire accident at Jhansi Medical College in Uttar Pradesh is distressing. My deepest condolences to those who lost their innocent children in this tragedy. I pray to God to grant them strength to endure this immense loss. Under the state government’s supervision, the local administration is engaged in every possible relief and rescue effort: PM @narendramodi”
Ex-Gratia Announced
The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the next of kin of each deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) also shared the announcement on X, stating, “PM @narendramodi has announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased in the mishap at Jhansi Medical College, Uttar Pradesh. The injured will be given ₹50,000.”
