New Delhi, 22nd June: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday held a detailed conversation with Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss the prevailing tensions in the region. Expressing deep concern over recent escalations, the Prime Minister reiterated India’s longstanding position in favour of dialogue and diplomacy.
In a post on social media platform X, PM Modi said, “Spoke with President of Iran @drpezeshkian. We discussed in detail about the current situation. Expressed deep concern at the recent escalations. Reiterated our call for immediate de-escalation, dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward and for early restoration of regional peace, security and stability.”
