New Delhi, 31st March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives in the stampede incident in Bihar’s Nalanda district.
In a message, the Prime Minister extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the tragedy.
Calling the incident “deeply painful,” Modi announced financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
An ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of each deceased, while ₹50,000 will be given to those injured in the incident.
“The mishap in Nalanda district, Bihar, is deeply painful. I extend my condolences… Prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured,” the Prime Minister said.
The announcement comes as authorities continue relief and medical efforts following the stampede at a temple in Nalanda that claimed multiple lives.
