Jaipur, 26th Jan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday held extensive discussions to strengthen India-France strategic cooperation in areas such as defence, security, trade, and clean energy.
The talks took place at a 19th-century palace after a roadshow from Jantar Mantar to Hawa Mahal.
Macron will be the chief guest at India’s Republic Day celebrations, and Modi expressed his pride in Macron’s presence, stating that it strengthens the ties between the two nations.
The talks were described as productive, and the leaders discussed various bilateral and global issues.
The discussions mainly focused on boosting cooperation in defense, trade, space, cyber domain, and the Indo-Pacific region.
Macron’s visit aims to consolidate the strategic partnership between France and India, as outlined in the Horizon 2047 Roadmap.
The French president also visited the Amber Fort in Jaipur.
The deliberations aimed to enhance cooperation in defense, security, trade, climate change, nuclear energy, and mobility of students and professionals.
Macron will witness the Republic Day celebrations as the chief guest, and a French marching contingent and aircraft will be part of the parade.
Macron will also attend a reception at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and hold a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu.
