New Delhi, 4th May: Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has commenced a two-day official visit to Italy from June 4 to 5, 2025, following his engagements in France. The visit aims to deepen bilateral economic cooperation and build on the growing strategic partnership between India and Italy.
During his visit, Goyal will co-chair the 22nd Session of the India–Italy Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation (JCEC) with Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H.E. Antonio Tajani. This session comes at a pivotal moment in bilateral relations, following the launch of the India–Italy Joint Strategic Action Plan (JSAP) 2025–2029 during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with PM Giorgia Meloni at the G20 Summit in Rio.
The JCEC will provide a platform to review ongoing collaboration and explore new opportunities in areas like Industry 4.0, agritech, clean energy, digital transformation, sustainable mobility, and the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
In addition, Goyal will lead a high-level Indian business delegation to the India–Italy Growth Forum in Brescia, a prominent industrial hub. The forum will serve as a gateway for investment promotion, business partnerships, and cooperation in innovation and sustainability-focused sectors.
