Pickup Vehicle Overturns in Madhya Pradesh, Fourteen Dead

In a devastating incident on Wednesday night, fourteen people lost their lives, and twenty-one sustained injuries after a pickup vehicle overturned in Dindori, Madhya Pradesh. The accident occurred around 1:30 am near Badjar village, as villagers from Devari village were returning home after attending an event.

According to police reports, the pickup vehicle veered out of control, causing it to overturn, resulting in the tragic loss of lives and injuries to several passengers. Prompt action by locals and law enforcement personnel saw the injured rushed to the nearby Community Health Center for urgent medical attention. Dindori’s collector and superintendent of police also arrived at the scene to provide assistance and support to the victims.

Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced financial aid of ₹4 lakh each to the families of the deceased. State Minister Sampatiya Uikey is scheduled to visit Dindori to assess the situation firsthand and extend further support.

In a statement issued by the Chief Minister’s office, Dr. Mohan Yadav extended condolences to the bereaved families, praying for solace for the departed souls and strength for their loved ones.

“Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed deep condolences over the untimely loss of many precious lives in a vehicle accident in Dindori district. He prayed to God to grant peace to the departed souls and give strength to the family members to bear this thunderbolt. The Chief Minister said that financial assistance of ₹ 4 lakh each will be provided to the families of those affected in the incident.

Instructions have been given to the district administration for proper treatment of the injured. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, Cabinet Minister Sampatiya Uikey is reaching Dindori,” the office of the chief minister said in a post on X.”
