Phase 3 of Lok Sabha 2024 Polls: Gazette Notification to be Issued on April 12

The Election Commission gears up for the third phase of the General Elections 2024 with the issuance of the Gazette notification tomorrow, April 12, 2024. This phase encompasses 94 Parliamentary Constituencies (PCs) spread across 12 States/Union Territories (UTs), along with an adjourned poll in the 29-Betul (ST) PC of Madhya Pradesh.

The polling for these constituencies, including the adjourned poll in 29-Betul (ST) PC, is scheduled for May 7, 2024. Notably, the election for the 29-Betul (ST) PC was postponed from the second phase due to the unfortunate demise of a contesting candidate from the Bahujan Samaj Party.

The 12 States/UTs included in Phase 3 are Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Goa, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

With nominations set to commence tomorrow, April 12, 2024, the last date for nominations across all 12 States/UTs participating in Phase 3 is April 19, 2024. As the election process gains momentum, anticipation builds for the democratic exercise that will shape the future of the nation.
