Patna, 14th Nov: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday congratulated Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders for the ruling bloc’s strong victory in the state, calling it a “historic and unprecedented mandate” that will further empower the alliance to serve the people.

In a series of posts on X, the prime minister said the NDA’s win reflected the trust of the people of Bihar, crediting the mandate to the “all-round development” carried out by the alliance government.
“Good governance has triumphed. Development has triumphed. The spirit of public welfare has triumphed. Social justice has triumphed,” he wrote.

PM Modi also expressed gratitude to NDA workers, saying they worked “tirelessly” to counter what he described as the “lies” of the Mahagathbandhan. He added that the alliance remains committed to ensuring that every youth and woman in the state receives ample opportunities for a prosperous future.

“My deepest gratitude to the people of Bihar, my family, who have blessed the NDA with a historic and unprecedented victory in the 2025 Assembly elections,” the prime minister posted.

He further said the government will now focus on accelerating Bihar’s growth:
“In the coming times, we will actively work towards the development of Bihar, giving a new identity to the infrastructure here and the culture of the state.”

PM Modi congratulated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Ministers Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha for the victory. Besides the BJP and JDU, the NDA’s Bihar unit comprises Chirag Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and Upendra Kushwaha-led Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM).

The alliance is on course to retain power with leads in more than 200 of the 243 constituencies. The BJP is poised to emerge as the single-largest party, recording close to a 95 per cent strike rate in the polls. The majority mark in the state assembly stands at 122.

Bihar voted in two phases on November 6 and 11. The state recorded its highest-ever voter turnout—66.91 per cent—since India’s first election in 1951, according to the Election Commission of India.
