Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Ji is honored by the PM on his Punya Tithi

New Delhi, 11th Feb. Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, a prominent party ideologue, was honored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday on the occasion of his death. He stated that Upadhyaya demonstrated how to move the nation forward while maintaining its core values of Indian culture and heritage. Modi wrote on these, saying they have also served as inspiration for creating a developed India. One of the founding members of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the precursor to the BJP, was the RSS official X. Upadhyaya. In Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects valued at Rs 7,300 crore today.

Modi has frequently mentioned his concepts of “integral humanism” and “antyodaya,” or the uplift of the poorest, as sources of inspiration for his system of government. In 1968, Upadhyaya passed away. Along with grand tributes, other BJP leaders declared that the party will always be guided by his values, party president J P Nadda among them.

Upadhyaya’s life, according to Home Minister Amit Shah, is a huge symbol of service to and dedication to the country. Shah stated that he thought no nation could advance by ignoring the core principles of its culture.
