‘Overtake, chase, and assault’: What transpired in the Pune road rage case

Pune, 21^st July. In a road rage incident in Pune, Maharashtra, a 27-year-old lady was viciously attacked and left bleeding on the road. The event occurred on the Baner-Pashan Road in the city, while the victim mother was riding a scooter with her two children.

Police stated the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon.

In her testimony to the police, the victim claimed that an older man and his wife, both of whom are now in custody, attempted to overtake her as she was driving the scooter with her children. She stated that she tried to steer clear of the man, but he kept speeding up and approaching her from behind.

In a viral social media video, the woman can be seen crying with a bleeding nose while telling her trauma. She claimed that the man followed her for more than 2 kilometres before viciously beating her, resulting in blood.

“This man kept speeding behind for almost 2 km and I was riding on the left to give him the when he suddenly took me to the left side of the road, got out of his car furiously and punched me hard enough that I immediately started bleeding,” the clip shows the woman stating.
