New Delhi, 13th Jan. The Congress and other opposition parties have always been caught in a difficult position with the Ram temple issue and have occasionally changed their position. In order to avoid upsetting the Muslims, they had kept a distance from the conflict for a number of years. When the Congress applauded the Supreme Court decision that opened the door for the temple’s construction in November 2019, they attempted to dispel the impression that they were a pro-Muslim party. It went one step further and attempted to claim credit for it, stating that the Congress administration at the Centre had purchased 67 acres of land close to the 2.77-acre Ayodhya site in 1993, which was then challenged.
However, the absence of three prominent Congressmen from the January 22 event—Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Adhir Ranjan Choudhary—will provide the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which takes pride in supporting the Ram temple movement, with a new platform to defend its anti-Hindu stance against the historic party.
Along with the Congress, other opposition parties including the TMC and CPM have recently embraced the anti-Hindu stance against this historic event.
CPM leader PK Biju in Kerala has requested that people in the state refrain from attending the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha ceremony, even if it is broadcast on television, ahead of the opening of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22. He urged everyone to turn off their televisions that day and to prevent their kids from seeing the highly anticipated live show.
As per a report published on Janmabhoomi Online, the leader of the CPM has requested that local residents and school teachers show students the image of the disputed Babri Masjid instead of the actual building. At the Kerala School Teachers Association District Conference’s opening, PK Biju gave a speech.
In the meantime, the leader attacked the National Education Policy (NEP), claiming that Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan was plotting against the government and that the policy was created by the federal government to “saffronize” the educational system.

Earlier, the CPM in Kerala had announced that they wouldn’t be attending the Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. “Our group will not be present at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya’s “Pran Pratishtha” event. Although we respect religious convictions, they are tying politics and a religious programme together. This is how a religious programme has been politicised. Party chieftain Brinda Karat was cited as stating, “This is not right.”
On the other hand, Satabdi Roy, the leader of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), stirred up controversy on Friday when she called Lord Ram “Below poverty line (BPL)” in an attempt to poke fun at the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).
The MP for the Lok Sabha is heard stating in a video that has now gone viral on social media, saying, “They (BJP) are claiming that a house is being given to Ram. I was shocked to hear this. They have so much power to give a house to Ram.”
“Ram must be BPL (below poverty line). Like houses are made for those who have BPL cards, it seems they (BJP) are giving the house to Ram under BPL scheme.”

The head of the Trinamool Congress bragged, “The work will be completed if one house each can be given to Ram’s sons Luv Kush.”
In a sharp response to her divisive comments, BJP State President Sukanta Majumdar said, “Satabdi Roy’s statement on Prabhu Shri Ram itself proves @MamataOfficial led @AITCofficial’s mindset about Hindu faith and deep-rooted beliefs. This is disgraceful and insulting for every Hindu of the world…”

There have already been disparaging statements made about Lord Ram by a Trinamool Congress leader. An alleged TMC politician was heard telling Hindus in a video that went viral in November 2020 that they were not allowed to shout “jai Shree Ram” in West Bengal.
It is no secret that the Trinamool Congress party despises Jai Shree Ram. Mamata Banerjee lost her temper in May 2019 after she heard some individuals singing “Jai Shri Ram” on a street.
The opposition parties have fully embraced the practice of “fanning anti-Hindu sentiment.” The BJP government, however, is working to restore Hinduism. After suffering for a very long time, Hindus have understood how important it is to hold fast to their religious beliefs. The restoration of Ram Mandir is a magnificent embarking on the path to spiritual enlightenment.
