New Delhi, 19th Feb. It appears that the grand alliance of opposition parties formed to oppose the Modi government is beginning to disintegrate. While the leaders of the India Alliance are joining other parties before the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP clan is continuously strengthening. Every day, new acquaintances are being added to NDA. However, despite all of this, the India alliance is consistently encountering setbacks. The current circumstance is such that the emergence of discord between opposition parties in the electoral arena is causing a rift. In the last six days, the INDIA Alliance has suffered four major setbacks in UP, which appears to be weakening the opposition’s fight.
The opposition is discordant
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav is constantly promoting the PDA. He says that the alliance between backward classes, Dalits, and minorities will defeat the NDA, and that their alliance will prevent the NDA from coming to power in Uttar Pradesh itself. However, it appears that this is not currently occurring. With the elections approaching, there is division among the opposition in Uttar Pradesh. It is noteworthy that the platform of opposition parties was presented. It was built last year amid difficulties, and then as quickly as it started raising hopes, those hopes are being destroyed just as quickly.
Four shocks to the India alliance within six days
Rashtriya Lok Dal gave the first blow to the India alliance in UP, when Jayant Choudhary announced to join the NDA amidst all the speculation. Jayant was said to be angry about the seat sharing with SP. Jayant’s heart became happy when Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the award of Bharat Ratna to his grandfather Chaudhary Charan Singh. On February 12th, Jayant Choudhary announced that he had decided to join the NDA after speaking with all the party’s MLAs.
On February 13, senior backward leader Swami Prasad Maurya resigned from the post of National General Secretary. Akhilesh Yadav announced SPs Rajya Sabha candidates immediately after Maurya became angry. It is said that he himself wanted to attend Rajya Sabha. He immediately resigned by writing a lengthy letter. Immediately upon the announcement of Akhilesh Yadav’s Rajya Sabha candidates by SP, Maurya became enraged. It has been reported that he wished to attend the Rajya Sabha. He immediately resigned by writing a lengthy letter. However, he also stated that he would continue to work as a party worker.
Pallavi Patel is also agitated
The third blow to SP occurred a few hours later on February 13, when its ally Apna Dal Kamerawadi’s Pallavi Patel objected to the names of actresses Jaya Bachchan and Alok Ranjan in the Rajya Sabha. SP talks about PDA, but they have made it filmy. She will not support the SP candidate. His party will conduct a thorough review of the alliance.
The Congress received the fourth blow
The fourth blow dealt to the India alliance in Uttar Pradesh was caused by Vibhakar Shastri, the son of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, who resigned from the Congress party on February 14th, and some individuals subsequently joined the BJP. He participated in the elections for the Fatehpur Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh, but ultimately lost the election.
Nitish will be of great assistance in preventing the fragmentation of Kurmi votes in Uttar Pradesh.
The political turmoil in Bihar may prove advantageous for the BJP and its allies in Purvanchal, Uttar Pradesh, during the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. The burden of preventing the dispersion of votes from the Kurmi community has become lighter for the BJP and its constituent parties since Nitish Kumar became a part of the NDA. The most significant relief has been received by Apna Dal (S), an ally of the BJP, which is widely recognized as having a substantial influence within the Kurmi community.
There are 41 MLAs and 8 MPs from the Kurmi community in UP
At present, there are 41 MLAs and eight MPs from the Kurmi community in Uttar Pradesh. Both Anupriya Patel and Pankaj Chaudhary from this community are ministers of state in the central government. The UP government has three cabinet ministers and one minister of state. The Kurmi community is represented in 33 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, where the number of Kurmi voters is high. In these seats of Purvanchal, the Kurmi community is considered to be very strong in Prayagraj, Phulpur, Pratapgarh, Basti, Dumariaganj, Jaunpur, and Machhlishahr. Furthermore, this community has greater influence on many seats in the Bundelkhand and Rohilkhand regions.
