New Delhi, 24th Oct: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday addressed the Rozgar Mela via videoconferencing, congratulating over 51,000 newly appointed youth across India and describing their selection as a double celebration — of employment and the festival of Diwali.
“The appointments made today are not merely government jobs but opportunities to actively contribute to nation-building,” the Prime Minister said, urging the appointees to serve with integrity and uphold the spirit of ‘Nagarik Devo Bhava’.
Highlighting the government’s employment drive, Modi said that over 11 lakh appointment letters have been issued through Rozgar Melas so far. He also announced that under the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, the government aims to provide jobs to 3.5 crore youth, supported by initiatives like Skill India Mission and the National Career Service portal, which has already shared information on over 7 crore vacancies.
In a major announcement, the Prime Minister unveiled the ‘Pratibha Setu Portal’, a new platform connecting UPSC candidates who reached the final list but weren’t selected, with opportunities in both public and private sectors. “Their hard work will not go in vain — their talent will now be channelled towards nation-building,” he said.
Citing record-breaking festive sales, Modi linked the GST Bachat Utsav to growing economic momentum. “When goods become cheaper, demand rises, factories work faster, and more jobs are created. The GST Bachat Utsav is transforming into an Employment Festival,” he observed, noting how reforms have energized MSMEs, retail, logistics, and manufacturing.
The Prime Minister also highlighted India’s global partnerships in sectors such as AI, fintech, and clean energy, pointing to new employment opportunities through trade and investment deals with the UK, Brazil, Singapore, Korea, and Canada.
Calling India’s youth the country’s “greatest asset,” Modi encouraged the new recruits to make use of the i-Got Karmayogi Bharat Platform, where 1.5 crore government employees are already upskilling. “Young karmayogis like you will lead India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation,” he said, concluding with best wishes to all appointees.
