Secunderabad, 10th Aug: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan today described the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ as a testament to the synergy and operational cohesion among the Army, Navy, and Air Force. Addressing participants of the 21st Higher Defence Management Course at the College of Defence Management (CDM) in Secunderabad, the CDS highlighted the need for continued reforms to meet evolving national security challenges.
In his address, General Chauhan spoke on ‘National Security Architecture and Higher Defence Management,’ outlining the current structure and ongoing reforms within India’s defense organization. He emphasized the importance of comprehensive capability development and ‘Aatmanirbharta’ (self-reliance) to deal with the disruptive changes in modern, technology-driven warfare.
As a significant step towards strengthening joint logistics and integration, the CDS released the ‘Joint Primer for Integrated Logistics,’ a comprehensive guide prepared by the CDM. He stressed that logistics is the backbone of military operations and that integrating logistical processes across the three services is critical to achieving strategic objectives. The document aims to enhance tri-service coordination through digitization, common provisioning, and procurement.
General Chauhan also inaugurated a new Smart Bike Public Bicycle Sharing Facility at the CDM, a pioneering initiative to provide eco-friendly e-bicycles for personnel. This project, a collaboration with Smart Bike Mobility Pvt Ltd, reflects the institution’s commitment to green practices and sustainable alternatives.
