OnePlus 15R Launched in India With Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

New Delhi, 18th Dec: OnePlus on Wednesday launched the OnePlus 15R in India as its latest performance-focused smartphone, featuring top-tier hardware, a large battery and advanced display and camera capabilities.

The OnePlus 15R is powered by Qualcomm’s 3nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset with a peak clock speed of 3.8GHz. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 internal storage, along with an Adreno 8-series GPU. The handset also includes a G2 Wi-Fi chip and a dedicated Touch Response Chip.

In India, the OnePlus 15R is priced at ₹47,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, while the 512GB storage option costs ₹52,999. The smartphone is available for pre-orders starting today and will go on sale from December 22 at 12 pm IST via Amazon, the OnePlus India online store and offline retail outlets. Bank offers on Axis Bank and HDFC Bank cards reduce the effective starting price to ₹44,999.

The device sports a 6.83-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,272×2,800 pixels, a 165Hz refresh rate and 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and includes features such as Sun Display, Reduce White Point, Motion Cues and Eye Comfort Reminders.

In the camera department, the OnePlus 15R features a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera offering a 112-degree field of view. The cameras support up to 4K video recording at 120 fps along with cinematic and multi-view video modes. On the front, the smartphone houses a 32-megapixel selfie camera capable of recording 4K videos at 30 fps.

The handset runs on Android 16-based OxygenOS 16, with OnePlus promising four major OS updates and six years of security patches. It supports dual SIM functionality and carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

Powering the device is a 7,400mAh silicon carbon battery with 80W wired fast charging support. The company claims the battery will retain 80 percent of its original capacity even after four years of use.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, GPS with NavIC support and a USB Type-C port. The OnePlus 15R measures 163.4 x 77 x 8.3 mm and weighs around 219 grams. It is available in Charcoal Black, Mint Breeze and Electric Violet colour options.
