New Delhi, 18th March: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday extended his greetings to citizens on the eve of Chaitra Shukladi, Ugadi, Gudi Padwa, and Cheti Chand, marking the traditional New Year celebrations across various parts of the country.
In his message, Birla conveyed heartfelt wishes, noting that these festivals are being celebrated nationwide with faith, enthusiasm and joy, reflecting India’s rich cultural diversity and unity.
“Heartfelt greetings to all countrymen on the occasion of Nav Samvatsar, Chaitra Navratri, Cheti Chand, Gudi Padwa, and Ugadi,” he said.
Emphasising the significance of the New Year, the Speaker said the occasion is not merely a change of calendar but an opportunity to move forward with fresh ideas, renewed energy and strong resolutions.
He also expressed hope that divine blessings would guide citizens towards a positive and purposeful life. “I pray that Goddess Bhagwati’s blessings fill our lives with strength, devotion, and positivity,” Birla added.
