London, 27th Jan: Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP), under the leadership of Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale, International Convenor and Incharge of the Foreign Affairs of the central BJP and Shishir Bajoria has announced a new leadership team for the United Kingdom and Europe.
Kuldeep Singh Shekhawat, who earlier served as President of OFBJP-UK and Co-Convenor for Europe, has been promoted and entrusted with the responsibility of Incharge of OFBJP for the UK and Europe. The promotion comes in recognition of his sustained efforts and work for strengthening engagement with the Indian diaspora across the region since more than 7 years.Mr Shekhawat is first leader of OFBJP , who served long tenure in his history since 2018-2025
With the new restructuring, old and active member Bikram Banerjee has been appointed as the new Convenor of OFBJP-UK. He will be supported by a team of seven executive members as part of the newly announced UK unit.
OFBJP said Shekhawat’s promotion reflects his long-standing service, having served as President of OFBJP-UK from 2018 to January 2026, and later as Co-Convenor for Europe. In his new role, he will focus on expanding organisational activities and further strengthening outreach among Indians and friends of India across the UK and Europe.
Confirming the development, Shekhawat said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,New BJP President Sri Nitin Nabi ji ,Dr Vijay Chauthaiwale, Shishir Bajoria ji ,,our OFBJP will work to expand its footprint, connect more members of the Indian diaspora and well-wishers of India, and deepen bilateral engagement between India, the UK and Europe.
He said the organisation would intensify activities to strengthen people-to-people ties and support stronger India–UK and India–Europe relations.
According to official sources -OFBJP-UK New Team announced by Shri Shishir Bajoria, Convenor, Foreign Affairs, BJP National Headquarters, New Delhi in London last day.

OFBJP clarified that under the new structure, there will be no posts of President, Vice-President or General Secretary in the UK unit, with the organisation operating through the roles of Convenor and Treasurer.
The leadership reshuffle is aimed at streamlining operations and strengthening OFBJP’s engagement with the Indian diaspora and supporters of India across the UK and Europe.
